Alia+Ben: Henna Day

Soon after meeting Alia and Ben, Alia invited me to attend her henna party on the Thursday prior to the wedding.  Because we had become friendly, the invitation seemed more “just because” inclusive, so I could experience the fun and fest and food… but of course I could only imagine the visuals that might result!  As the excitement of the wedding week unfolded,  I was thrilled to enter a room draped with beautiful fabric, displays of adorned boxes, candles, lots of sweet and savory munchies and wonderful scents.  Oh, and the people were fun too!!  AND, the henna application had commenced – Alia’s hands and feet took about 3.5 hours!  The resulting images were more than I had imagined and the interactions, love, laughs, festivities were wonderful to share.  There ARE times when I feel I’m part of the family/friends – and this was indeed one of those.  Thank you, Alia and Ben, for the new friendship!
