Destination Wedding Photography: NOLA Jazzin’
The May 18 destination wedding of Sean and Katherine in New Orleans will be forever etched in our memories! Guests arrived Thursday for a three-day nuptials fest that offered this Sarasota, Florida-based photographer deliciously rich photo opps! Royal Sonesta Hotel on Bourbon Street, crazy fun bowling, casual and elegant NOLA food, Zydeco and traditional brass jazz of the South, a beautiful and historic scene at Preservation Hall, an over-the-top dinner at Antoine’s, a flash flood, second line brass band parade and pub crawl made for an extraordinary NOLA weekend. And we made ABC World News Tonight thanks to a video-gone-viral posted by wedding planner, Valerie Gernhauser!! An unexpected weather event Friday afternoon delayed the wedding due to flooding. After an hour and no break in the rain, the bride was carried (and protected by umbrellas) by altruistic guests in bare feet and rolled up trousers. They were soaked, she was dry and the wedding went off with much celebration! Videos and photos of this segment closed Sunday’s evening news. And, while the 2nd line parade was rained out, it came together the next day. Everyone celebrated and danced in the streets for a happy and unforgettable NOLA wedding. Locations: Rock N Bowl (www.rocknbowl.com), Preservation Hall , Antoine’s. Wedding planning: Sapphire Events; florals: Kim Starr Wise..
